Duties & Responsibilities:
Orthopedic Surgeons treat their patients’ musculoskeletal systems. This means they care for patients who have problems with their bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons, according to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Salary: $512,000
Education:
After completing a 4-year bachelor's degree program in biology, pre-medicine or a related field, aspiring orthopedic surgeons must complete four additional years of medical school, followed by a 4- to 5-year orthopedic surgery residency in a hospital.
Demand:
Orthopaedic Surgery is one of the fastest growing segments of the healthcare market. It is estimated that 30 to 40 percent of patients visit primary care physicians complaining of musculoskeletal afflictions. This adds up to more than 137 million visits to physicians’ offices, hospital outpatient clinics and emergency departments every year for orthopaedic conditions.

Reflection:
I would like to become an Orthopedic Surgeon because it seems like a well rounded job. Although the education requirements is a lot I think it's worth it. The pay is very good and the job doesn't seem so difficult
